Description:   Large white flowers grow on several stalks. These perennial, plants are up to 4 feet tall, with leaves made up of 3 leaflets. The stems are smooth.
Attracts: Honeybees.
Bloom time: From June through July.
Range:Eastern tall grass prairie.
Sunshine:Full sun to partial shade.
Moisture: Fairly wet to dry.
Soil types: Clay or loam best.

Suggested seed treatment:   You should provide 10 days of cold moist stratification Many prairie wildflower seeds benefit by moist cold stratification, some require it to germinate. Seed that you purchase from Oak Prairie Farm has not received cold moist stratification.
Scarification is also needed. All seed that you purchase from Oak Prairie Farm that needs it has been scarified.
You will also need to inoculate the seed with type INOCBA. All seeds that you purchase from Oak Prairie Farm that need it will have the right inoculum along with the seed.

Direct planting tips:   Plant seed in desired location cover with 1/2 inch deep soil, and firm.

Transplants:   If you grow transplants from our seed: transplant only the first year while dormant in spring or fall, trim long roots, plant with buds just below the soil surface, space 4 to 5 feet apart.

Companion prairie plants:    Spiderwort, Yellow coneflower, Wild lupine, Big bluestem, Indian grass.

Comments:   This plant is related to the Sweet pea, so the blossoms are similar. It is shrub-like in the home garden.
