Botanical name: Helianthus pauciflorus (Helianthus lateriflorus)
  

 
Description:   Bright yellow with dark centers flowers grow on a branching stalk at the top of the plant. These perennial, open, branching plants are up to 6 feet tall, with narrow rough leaves.
Attracts: Honeybees.
Bloom time: From July through September.
Range:Northern U.S. and south.
Sunshine:Full sun to partial shade.
Moisture: Fairly dry through dry.
Soil types:Sandy loam best.

Suggested seed treatment:   No pretreatment needed.

Direct planting tips:   Plant seed in desired location and cover the seed with 1/4 inch of soil, and firm.

Transplants:   If you grow transplants from our seed: transplant while dormant in spring or fall, trim long roots, plant with buds just below the soil surface, space 1 to 2 feet apart. Very vigorous.

Companion prairie plants:    Wild lupine, Prairie cinquefoil, Spiderwort, Little bluestem, Side Oats.

Comments:   Very vigorous.
