Suggested seed treatment: You should provide 30 days of cold dry stratification. All seed that you purchase from Oak Prairie Farm has received dry cold stratification. Direct planting tips: Plant seed in desired location cover with 1/4 inch deep soil, and firm. Transplants: If you grow transplants from our seed: transplant 2 year old corms while dormant in spring or fall, trim long roots, plant with buds about 2 inches below the soil surface, space 1 to 2 feet apart. Companion prairie plants: Round headed bush clover, Purple prairie clover, Yellow coneflower, Big bluestem, Indian grass.
Comments: Native Americans used a tea made from the leaves to treat stomachaches and snakebites.
