Description:   yellow flowers grow alternately on the stem. These annual, plants are up to 2 feet tall, and are compound with up to as many as 15 pairs of leaflets which fold from the center at night or when touched.
Attracts:Honeybees.
Bloom time: From July through September.
Range:Western part of the tall grass prairie.
Sunshine:Full sun
Moisture: Fairly dry.
Soil types: sandy loam best.

Suggested seed treatment:   You should provide 10 days of cold moist stratification. Many prairie wildflower seeds benefit by moist cold stratification, some require it to germinate. Seed that you purchase from Oak Prairie Farm has not received cold moist stratification.

Direct planting tips:   Plant seed in desired location in 1/4 inch deep soil, and firm.

Transplants:   If you grow transplants from our seed: transplant while dormant in spring or fall, trim long roots, plant with buds just below the soil surface, space 1 to 2 feet apart. Very vigorous.

Companion prairie plants:    White prairie clover,Round headed bush clover, Showy goldenrod, Big bluestem, Indian grass.

Comments:   Very vigorous. Nice for early color in a seeding.
